March 2017: Program
The Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) München announces the 3rd workshop on Physics of Volcanoes.
It will take place on 8 and 9 March 2017 at the Department für Geo- und Umweltwissenschaften, Theresienstraße 41, 80333 München.
We are looking forward to novel presentations about magmatic and volcanic processes. The aim of this annual workshop series is to strengthen the links between researchers at German institutions by establishing a forum for the exchange of scientific results, technical developments and process understanding.
There will be four topical sessions:
- Physics and chemistry of melts
- Physics of magmatic processes
- Volcano monitoring
- Volcano hazards and risk mitigation
There will not be overlapping sessions, ensuring that attendees remain together to maximize interactions and exposure to new ideas and subjects.
Registration and abstract submission are open until 27 January 2017 at no cost (Link in 2nd circular). Participation is limited to 120 persons, first come first served. The first 15 PhD or PostDoc students that register and present will be invited for a typical Bavarian meal.
